Goulash

One night last week I had no idea what to make for dinner. This is a great recipe for one of those nights, because it's made with ingredients that you most likely have on hand. Noodles, canned tomatoes, and ground beef (I used ground turkey) are the main ingredients. I modified this recipe from one I found on the Food Network site. It's great!

Goulash

1 lb. ground beef (or turkey, or whatever - it was great with ground turkey and healthy too!)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cups water
16 oz. tomato sauce
1 (15 oz. can) diced tomatoes
2 tsp. minced garlic
1 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
1 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1 cup dried elbow macaroni (I used maybe 1/4 cup more, I like more noodles)

In a large skillet, cook the ground meat and onion until no pink remains. Add the water, tomato sauce, tomatoes, garlic, Italian seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt. Stir well and add macaroni. Mix well and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low, cover and simmer for about 25 minutes or until noodles are tender. Serve this with some sour cream and shredded cheese - YUM!
