1/4 cup butter
2 cups uncooked long grain rice
4 cups water
2 chicken boullion cubes
green onion, thinly sliced (you can vary this depending on what you like)
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted (or not toasted, it's good either way)
In a skillet, melt the butter. Add rice; cook and stir until rice starts to turn opaque. Add water and boullion (watch out for the steam) and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat, stir in onions and soy sauce. Cover and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in the almonds.
